Heavenly Altered Wooden Book Box~

I don't know about you, but I just love a sweet spot to tuck in treasures and momentos, and one of these little altered wooden boxes are so perfect, with the hidden slide out drawer, it makes stashing secrets so beautiful!!

I created the following using the June Scraps Of Elegance Kit~Stephanie's Treasure:

I started with the wooden box with the hidden drawer and painted it in Dina Wakley Gesso to seal it and get it primed for all my techniques and layers.

On the front of the box, I layered in layers of distressed papers from the kit, and added some Reneabouquets Sheer Romance Lace at the bottom.

I tucked in a piece that I tore off one of the large flowers from the Floral Add On, and then painted one of the little chipboard frames from the kit and added on some of the Prills from the Embellishment Add On. I then added my sweet photo. The photo was one that I purchased from Etsy Digital Artist- Ireland Rose's Nostalgia. Her images are wonderful and very high quality. I use them in my work often. I can digitally alter a lot my own images, but I love supporting other artists as well.

In the top right hand corner I added a Prima Heart Resins dusted with the Prills, and some of the smaller flowers from the kit.

At the bottom corner, I added on some fuzzy trim from my stash, the large flower from the Floral Add On that I tore the bottom piece from , a small flower from the kit and a Reneabouquets Camellia Flowers in Ivory. I topped off the look with a set of 2 of my Reneabouquets Tiny Treasures Lavender Dreams Butterflies

I then coated the sides and the back with Prima Platinum Crackle Texture Paste, letting it air dry for a deeper crackle and then inking over the texture to bring out the crackle even more.

On the "binding" side of the book box, which is actually a pull out drawer, I inked and added on some Reneabouquets Butterfly Lace, then created a drawer pull out of a bobbin mounted onto a small Prima Oval Frame Resins and topped with a Reneabouquets Princess Rhinestone Button.

On the back side of the box I rubbed on some of the TH Rub Ons from the kit, and then went over the back with the Dina Wakley Gesso just to soften it up a bit and then inked over it to bring out the crackle.

I hope you have a wonderful 4th Of July weekend, and hopefully find lots of time for family and friends!! Make lots of memories and then create some sweet spots filled with them. Hugs ~Renea

Make A Little Magic With The Scraps Of Elegance June Kit~

The Scraps Of Elegance June Kit~Stephanie's Treasure has now sold out!! The kits that Melinda Kelly puts together are so amazing and in order not to miss out on them, you  have to purchase a subscription, and right now she is running a $5.00 off any $35.00 purchase special through June 27th, so it is a perfect time to grab a kit subscription as well as sign up to be permanent on any of the gorgeous monthly Add Ons.

The following is a layout that I created using the Stephanie's Treasure Kit.

I wanted to capture a really soft Shabby Chic meets "edgy" look, so I started with a piece of the wood grain paper from the kit.

I then created some layers underneath my photo by taking more of the kit paper , tearing some corrugated board that I painted with Dina Wakley Gesso and then edged with Ranger Texture Paste , then sprinkled the texture paste with some Reneabouquets Chunky Glitter Glass In Pink for that "Chunky" sparkly texture that I love!! I then curled the paper randomly around the chipboard for added dimension, and added my photo.

Next came some random curling around the edge of my layout, and I then layered in some more of that gesso, texture paint and Glitter Glass edged corrugated board behind them.
I then dripped some of the Gesso onto my layout and sprinkled it with more of the RB Glitter Glass.

I created floral sections, by adding on the paper doilies from the kit, cheesecloth from my stash, flowers from this month's floral add on. I dabbed over the large flower with some of the Dina Wakley Gesso to soften the color, and then sprayed it with spray adhesive and sprinkled on some Reneabouquets Chunky Glitter Glass In Diamond to add some sparkle and texture.

A View of the top floral layer and the dimension of all the colors and textures.

I then used the Stamp from the Embellishment Add On, and stamped the corner of my layout. I added some silver wire to "hang" two of the little light bulbs from the EAO and then took the ribbon from the kit, tied little bows and topped them with some little hand painted mulberry flowers.

I pleated and tucked in some Reneabouquets Dainty Flower Lace at the torn top and bottom corners of the corrugated board. Added another little light bulb and then inked over a Prima Resin Ballerina
To top off the layout with that special touch, I added some of my Reneabouquets Sweet Pea Glitter Glass Butterflies from the Reneabouquets.com and Reneabouquets Etsy.

I hope you are having fun creating a little magic of your own this Summer!! Hugs ~Renea

Timeless Beauty~Scraps of Elegance - Stéphanie's Treasure Kit

The Scraps Of Elegance June Kit~Stephanie's Treasure has arrived and it certainly is a Treasure!!! With those gorgeous Blue Fern Papers and Chipboard along with all the other yumminess, it was calling my name from the time it arrived at my door!!

For my first project is a layout that I created with a sweet Vintage Image that I digitally colored to go with my color scheme.

I started with a layer of the kit paper, that I stenciled with a damask stencil and Dina Wakley Gesso,

I then cut down another layer of the floral print paper that I edged with some Delicate Beauty Lace and then cut another piece of matching kit paper and layed it in horizontally.

In this month's Embellishment Add On there was a beautiful Blue Fern Chipboard Heart, and I painted it with the white gesso, then script stamped it. I layered on some Reneabouquets Chunky Glitter Glass in Lavender, and then layered some of the Prills from the Embellishment Add On. I absolutely love those things!! They are so beautiful and unique~

Next, I added a piece that I fussy cut from the papers and then topped it with my photo. I water distressed the edging o the horizontal piece and wrinkled it up, then topped it with an Anastasia Brooch, and added some more lace. I added some Reneabouquets Shabby Lavender Rose Butterflies for added dimension and texture.

On the chipboard I added flowers from this month's Floral Add On.

Created another floral layer with more Floral Add On Flowers, tucked in some stash fuzzy trim and then popped in a Prima Resin Heart.

At the bottom corner of my layout, I misted a Sweet Heart Applique, added more Floral Add On Flowers along with the little hearts that were in one of the flower packs ( I took them off the sticks), and more fuzzy trim for texture.

Here you can see all the dimension and texture you can get with one of the Scraps Of Elegance Kits!! That is one of the things that I love about our kits. Melinda puts in lots of elements that allow you to scrap outside the box!!

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!! Hugs ~Renea

Prima Garden Fable Mini Album~ A Reneabouquets.com & Reneabouquets Etsy Project

Today, I have a Mini Album that I created with the new Garden Fable line by Prima. You can find items from the new line, along with almost everything you see on this mini album in either the Reneabouquets.com Store or the Reneabouquets Etsy.

I started with a Reneabouquets 6 x 6 Chipboard Mini Album, and added two layers of distressed paper from the Prima Garden Fable 6 x 6 Paper Pad

Next, I added  some Reneabouquets Timeless Vintage Lace, and then started to add in embellishments. There is a Prima Oval Resin that I backed with paper from the paper pad, and topped with a Reneabouquets Tiny Treasure Oh So Pinkalicious Butterfly, I popped on a Reneabouquets Chubby Cherub Die Cut and added bling to her wings, added a Prima Bird's Nest, layered in cheesecloth and feathers for texture and then added some Prima Butterfly Collection Pupa Flowers, and tucked in a Prima Garden Fable Chipboard & More piece.

At the corner, I tore and rolled down the paper and then layered in a Reneabouquets Sweet Heart Applique, a Prima Garden Fable Chipboard & More piece, and some stash Prima flowers.

I created a closure system for the album using a metal bobbin from the Reneabouquets Sewing Trinkets Pack topped with a Reneabouquets Large Glamorous Rhinestone Button that wraps closed with hand dyed seam binding.

Here you can see all the dimension the layering gives and all the textures of all the trims and different embellishments.

On the Large 2 Inch D-Rings that I use on my Albums, I tired on tulle, hand dyed seam binding along with pieces of  Reneabouquets Butterfly Lace   and Reneabouquets Crochet Lace #001. I added a sweet little vile filled with Reneabouquets Chunky Glitter Glass In Pink and a little fairy sitting on a star charm from the Reneabouquets Fairy Trinkets Pack.

Here you can see how "Chunky" these albums allow you to get, using all your FAV embellishments, trinkets and trims!!

Page One and Page Two feature layers of Prima Fairy Gable paper, Pockets filled with tags cut from the papers and from the Prima Garden Fable Ticket & Tag Set topped with hand dyed seam binding and paper roses. I topped the Reneabouquets Butterfly Lace   with sequins from the Prima Garden Fable Chipboard & More and glued some randomly to the papers. In the corners are Ivory Flowers from the Reneabouquets Camillia Flower Set.

A view of the double sided tags in the pockets.

For Page Three and Four, I used paper from the paper pad, added paper doilies that I topped with tags from the tag set and accented with pearls, The chipboard pieces are from the Chipboard & More Set, the tickets and little match book journal are from the Tag Me Set and the flowers and butterfly are from the Pupa Flower Set. The large tag was cut from the paper pad and topped with hand dyed seam binding and a Reneabouquets Timeless Buttons- In Silver.

The little tickets can be unclipped, the little match book journal comes off the velcro so that it can be used and the large tag can be untucked and used for journaling or small photos.

For page Five and Six, there is Reneabouquets Victorian Days Lace, a chipboard frame for a photo, photo spaces, a sweet decorated chipboard and more piece and Flowers from the Reneabouquets Camillia Flower Set In Pink.

For Page Seven and Eight, there is layers of the paper pad paper, pockets formed from the papers and  Reneabouquets Shabby Dream Pink Lace. The flower and butterfly are from the Pupa Flower Set and there is another large tag that untucks.
