Let Them Eat Cake!!! Marie Antoinette Pocket Journal & ATC~

When I saw all those fun Marie Antoinette Graphic 45 Papers in the Scraps Of Elegance~Lisa's Sweet September Kit, I just had to make some Marie Antoinette themed projects from them!!!
First up, I have a "Let Them Eat Cake" Marie Antoinette Pocket Journal. This piece is filled with unique spots to house journaling, small photos and momentos. There is even a removable  glass vile of  Reneabouquets Chunky Glitter Glass!! So perfect for sprinkling a little glitter on some of those memories!

I started with a Handcrafted Pocket Journal Base, and then cut and distressed a layer of the kit paper. I then added on a fussy cut "If The Crown Fits piece, and then over layered with some Golden Goddess Lace, I then fussy cut out the Marie Antoinette and  Lois XVI of France Image and layered it on top of the lace with foam tape.

Next I created a floral layer with a Shabby Blush Chiffon Flower, one of the peach Petaloo flowers from this month's Floral Add On, and a past kit rose.

I painted a couple of the little Blue Fern Crown Pieces  with Prima Platinum Crackle Texture Paste and tucked them in.

I then fussy cut a "Let Them Eat Cake piece from the paper and added a Brass Spoon trinket onto it. The Champagne Dreams Butterflies are some of my handcrafted butterflies that I carry in the  Reneabouquets.com and Reneabouquets Etsy Shops.

I took a corked glass vile and filled it with some Reneabouquets Chunky Glitter Glass that I customed tinted for this project and used the peach twine from the kit to tie on one of the G45 Chipboard pieces from the Elements Add On.

I created a pocket from the G45 Pocket & Tags in the kit and added the "Keep Calm" piece on with foam tape. The whole piece velcros onto the base so that it can be removed.

There is a "Let Them Eat Cake" piece tucked inside the pocket.

Here is the system with the pieces untucked. There are:
2 Oversized, Double Sided Tags with lace, Hand dyed seam binding bows and pearl and gold buttons
2 Smaller pieces that open up for journling and small photos
A large tag with a hand dyed seam binding bow topped with a Timeless Button

This piece has a back pocket

With  a small double sided piece and 2 small G45 Chipboard tags.

2 Julie Nutting Armoire Pieces(from the kit) that I decorated with Prima Resin Pieces and pearls.

I then cut the doors so that they open up with some of the Graphic 45 Quote Paper Pieces mounted into them. The Armoires tie closed with some of the kit twine.

This is the back view of the Armoires.

And this is the back view of the entire pieces that has been finished out for a complete, designer look.

Up next is a little 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 ATC that I put together in the same theme as the Pocket Journal. I needed a quick ATC to do a swap with and using scraps from the pocket journal and running with the same theme allowed me to pull it off in about 15 minutes!! A busy girl has to do what she has to do!!

I created a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 ATC from Chipboard and then layered both sides with the kit paper that was left over from the background paper on the Pocket Journal. I then grabbed a scrap of TimelessVintage Lace In Ivory that I had lying on my super messy desk. I added a Baroque Metal Frame, and then fussy cut the small images from some of the kit paper that I had cut on for the 1st project.

I added one of those sweet Peach flowers from the Floral Add On along with a past kit mini rose and some stash leaves.

Used some leftover seam binding from the Pocket Jouranl to create a bow, and topped it with a Little Tea Cup, and then cut out the "Let Them Eat Cake" Quote from the same paper and popped it on with some foam tape, and there I had it an Easy Peezy, use up some scraps little ATC so beautiful and so perfect for swapping!!

Well, now I am in the mood for cake!! How about you?? Lets go grab a slice, and a cuppa and take it easy now that all our work is done!! Hope you have a great weekend!! Hugs ~Renea

What If You Fly Swag Bag Created For Phyllis Fernandez~

Over on the Scraps Of Darkness/Scraps Of Elegance Facebook Community Page, I am hosting a Swag Bag Swap this month, and my swap partner is Phyllis Fernandez. I created the following Swag Bag for her, and today I am just showing the Bag Portion of my gift to her, as part of my Scraps Of Elegance Design Team work with the Lisa's Sweet September Kit. I am saving the photos of the inside goodies as a surprise for Phyllis, and I hope she loves the bag and all the goodies that I chose just for her.

I took my inspiration from some Angel Wings that I saw on Pinterest by Carla Nathan:

I changed  the Design of my wings to an "in flight " spread, instead of a resting stance, by hand drawing my own wings and  going from there. I just love anything winged, and these Angel Wings were perfect for the the theme that I was creating for Phyllis's Bag.

I started with just a plain white 8 x 10 gift bag, and I created chipboard panels for it to mount on all 4 sides, painted the edges white with white gesso, and then layered on papers from the kit that I distressed and inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

I then added some of my FAV white, beaded Fuzzy Trim from my stash around the top of the bag,

I then took some lace and wrapped the handles to give them a nice designer look, added some seam bindine that I misted with Prima ~Tea Dye Color Bloom and crinkled, some pieces of lace panel and popped on a sweet little Reneabouquets Tiny Treasure Gold Tinsel Butterfly.

I added on a 2nd layer of kit papers that I edged in Diamond Glitter Glass, and Reneabouquets Microbeads In Gold. Next came a layer of  Golden Goddess Embroidered Lace.

I created my Angel Wings by drawing out my pattern onto chipboard, and cutting them out. I then covered the chipboard with lace panel, and then pleated crepe paper and added it onto the chipboard in layers to simulate feathers. I brushed over the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink, and then randomly shot the crepe paper with spray adhesive and sprinkled on some Reneabouquets Chunky Glitter Glass In Diamond. I aded some feathers and a Large Vintage Romance Pearl & Rhinestone Brooch to the center.

I layered in a paper Doily, a  Prima Victorian Frame Resin that I rubbed some Inka Gold from a past kit on to, and then I took a little Vintage Image that someone had created an Inspirational piece out of  with the quote "What If I fall? Oh, but my darling what if you fly?", on Tumbler, did some digital color changing, then fussy cut her out, and added some Diamond Glitter Glass to her wings and popped her onto the frame.

I created flower layers from some stash mulberry flowers, some of the Petaloo Flowers from this month's floral add on, some more hand dyed seam binding and some hand stamped, fussy cut leaves.

I took one of the Blue Fern Chipboard Crowns from the kit, inked it and then added Inka Gold accents, turned it upside down and placed it under the resin frame as an accent.

For the backside of the Swag Bag, I added more lace, a hand stamped Doily and a piece of a FAVorite Emily Dickenson Quote "Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul" as a flow through on my Wings theme.

I created a piece for the bottom of the quote, by taking the Blue Fern Chipboard heart, covering it with Gold Microbeads mixed with Diamond Gliter Glass, and then I hand crafted paper clay wings and added Inka Gold Accents, and layered it all on as one piece.

I hope Phyllis loves her Swag Bag as much as I loved receiving mine from her. Here is a photo of the one she sent me. Of course it has all the goodies in the photo, because I already received it!!!

I hope you take the time to join in on a fun swap somewhere!! That is one of the best parts about crafting is the people you meet along the way in the crafting community!! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit!! Hugs ~Renea

A Witch's Night Out Pocket Journal~

The following is a fun, Witch's Night Out Pocket Journal that I created to go into my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop using lots of goodies that you can find in both the Reneabouquets.com and Reneabouquets Etsy. This little system offers up lots of tuck ins that are perfect for journaling, photos and event momentos!

I  started with a Hand Sewn Pocket Journal Base, and layered on paper that I distressed and inked with Vintage Photo Tim Holtz Distress Ink. The little Witch Image is a Vintage photo that I color altered and then hand painted her a witch hat with hand crafted glitter paints.

Next I added a layer of  Crochet Lace 001 that I misted with  Rusty Hinge Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain , and then over misted it with Prima Tea Stain Bloom Spray.  I used cheesecloth to simiulate spider webs and added some plastic spiders that I accented with some Prima Crystals. The Reneabouquets Witch's Brew Butterflies are some of my original designs, and add a spooktacular touch and dimension to any Halloween project.

There is a chipboard gate piece, with another spider, a "Beware" sticker and fun black cat. For lots of Halloween color and bling, there is a Reneabouquets Chiffon Flower in Pumpkin, and a textured black flower.

The removable Owl tag was created by using a Halloween Tag that I layered with a Prima Resin Large Owl that I detailed with a TH Black Soot Marker, some Ex-Screamly Orange
Chunky Glitter Glass from the Reneabouquets Halloween Glitter Set, added a feather for his tail and hand dyed seam binding bow topped with a Prima Crystal. The Owl Tag is attached using velcro so that it can be removed for a small photo or journaling.

Here you can see all the pull outs. They feature:
2 Large Double Sided Tags
2-Large Witch Tehmed Tags that have pockets with 4 more double sided pieces tucked in them.
2-Smaller Shaped Journal Tags
1-Sewn, Th Witch Is In Booklet with 6 white blank pages.
1-Resin Owl Tag

Here you can see the 2 Witch themed Tags on the backside where the pockets are.

This is a view of the pieces untucked from the pockets and the booklet open.

The backside is finished out in matching paper for a finished,  Designer look.

Well, it is time for this Little Witch to grab her broom and get to cleaning!! I hope you have fun this Fall Season getting to create some of those fun, Halloween Projects yourself!! Creating a Soulful~Beautiful~Story With Scraps Of Elegance

TGIF everybody!!! As we head into the weekend, I have a layout that I created using the Scraps Of Elegance September Kit~Lisa's Sweet September Kit. It feature's one of Maddie's Senior photos that I took the background to black & white and left just the Maddie and the colors she was wearing which were perfect for these Blue Fern Papers in the kit.

I did some layering with the kit papers and embellishments and lots of subtle texture and color work that is easily overlooked if you don't see the close ups.

There is lots of distressing and inking that I did using Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink, Prima White Crackle Painting on the Corrugated Board, and Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Painting on the torn paper edges,

and here you can see the stenciling that I did with that gorgeous Rebecca Baer Morrocon Tile Stencil that Melinda included in the Elements Add On. I misted it with Prima White Pearl Bloom Spray then over inked it with the Tea Dye Ink. I then splatter painted and dripped Dina Wakely Gesso onto the stenciled are and then added Reneabouquets Silver Microbeads to the drops.
Those sweet little frames and green string were from the kit and I just added eyelets to the corrugated board to hang them and popped on some Reneabouquets Mini Texture Roses for accents.

For the accents at the top corner of the photo, I used a layer of  Crochet Cluny Lace, flowers from the kit and this month's Floral Add On, as well as a  Petaloo Penny Lane Flower.

The bottom accent has a Prima Resin Frame from a past Kit, flowers from the kit and Floral Add On and a Prima Metal Clock Face

.

I used one of the Graphic 45 Tags and Pockets pieces from the kit to create a pocket behind the photo that you can pull the tag out of to journal on, and accented it with a Reneabouquets Grace Button.

Here is to a great weekend!! We are supposed to have some cooler weather this weekend and boy will I be glad to see it come in!! Thanks for dropping by :) Hugs ~Renea
